Diane began her counseling career working for a community mental health agency where she provided counseling, psychotherapy, and case management for individuals with major mental illness and developmental disabilities. In addition to conducting individual, couples’, and family therapy, Diane is experienced in facilitating group psychotherapy for individuals struggling with schizophrenia and/or major depression. She has also led experiential groups for students studying at the graduate school level. Diane is qualified in psychological assessment, crisis intervention and crisis counseling, and has worked closely with community providers including law enforcement, elected officials, and inpatient psychiatric facilities to ensure crisis stabilization. In addition, she has served as a resource for local emergency rooms requesting assistance in psychological evaluation and crisis assessment. Diane has presented original research at the annual Professional Growth Conference of the Texas Counseling Association. She has also been active in the volunteer community serving the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, United Way, and Talitha Koum Institute among others. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, Diane strongly believes that instilling hope and empowerment are the keys to assisting clients in moving toward their goals and accomplishing a greater quality of life, whether the client/couple/family is struggling with major mental illness, developmental issues, or problems of everyday living. She enjoys working with clients from all walks of life. Diane currently owns a private practice, Forte’ Psychotherapy, in affiliation with Abounding Aspirations where she looks forward to helping you.
