Through six years of experience, Lacy has expanded her counseling expertise in the mental health field to include child/adolescent counseling, family counseling, parent support, career counseling, and adult counseling for a variety of concerns. Lacy began her training providing career counseling at Baylor University’s job skills/training center. She also gained experience working with children in special education, grades K-12 and with at-risk adolescent males at Methodist Children’s Home. Lacy has provided counseling services for children and adolescents who report difficulty with ADHD, behavioral problems, family-relational conflicts, adjustment difficulties, depression, mood disorders, drug and alcohol use/abuse, suicidal ideation and self-harming behavior, trouble within the school system and other obstacles to their happiness and mental wellness. She has also worked with adults through the MHMR system by providing individual counseling, family counseling, parent support, crisis intervention, and various other services. Lacy has collaborated with several MHMR Centers, government agencies, psychiatric hospitals, Juvenile Probation Departments, law enforcement agencies, Child/Adult Protective Services, school districts and community resources to identify needs and help cope with them. She has specialized training in Playtherapy, child/adolescent therapy, parent-child relational therapy, and various other continuing education for several mental health concerns. While Lacy continues to be associated with the Heart of Texas Region MHMR – Klaras Center for Families, she also offers counseling services through her private practice, Aurora Counseling Services, PLLC.
