Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Playtherapy focuses on using therapeutic techniques of play to help children prevent or resolve psychological difficulties. Playtherapy adheres to a foundational principle that children use play as a means of communication. When language is difficult to express verbally, children will express fears, hopes, typical behaviors, and expectations through the language of play. This is most appropriate for children under the age of 10. Playtherapy empowers children with emotional and behavioral difficulties to achieve resolution of conflict within themselves and reach their potential development. Playtherapy is a process through which children learn communication and social skills as well as develop negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision making skills within a safe environment.
